Eine Art Lösung

Englisch title:

Kind Of A Solution

Scenic or site-specific concert performance

A kind Of Solution is a concert performance, a fragmented, poetic and multilingual narrative in words, sounds and bodies about places and times, about lies and freedom.

Hebrew, French, German and English merge into sung and spoken poems. They are memories, autobiographical and historical stories, philosophical and political thoughts and imaginative reflections, including the absurd. The whole thing is accompanied by a subtle self-mockery.

Like the memory of a little girl in Tel Aviv taking a strange and desolate walk with her father through the rubble of the nearby Arab village. Or the story of a foreigner in Paris trying to capture her own image from the depths of her "foreignness" through the eyes of Parisian men.

The scores, musically and choreographically, develop from the text and thus create a performative form. Piano and percussion, voice and dance draw poetry from mental space - by that I mean an imagined universe evoked by word signs, but which allows each individual to connect with their own context, their inner world. They are grasped without wanting or being able to annihilate this subjectivity, and by accepting it they transform into a common presence.

The audience accesses multiple levels of meaning: the less known and understood the language, the more its words become empty, unrelated to the world and reality. Meaning is “confiscated”, reality is presented as alien. Similar to sound poetry, the “naked” sound of the words is created. It merges with drums and piano into a musical, sensual and intangible landscape. I would like to open a window to the unconscious universe of non-verbal thinking, its associations, its images and the resulting emotions.

Through a back and forth between the different unsynchronized levels of a fragmented and sensual narrative, I invite the audience to experience the multiplicity of senses and meanings by connecting the opposites, neutralizing their polarity and uniting the differences. So that we can find ourselves in the other.
